Roy Guzman

Roy G. Guzmán was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and raised in Miami, Florida. He is the recipient of a 2017 Minnesota State Arts Board Initiative grant and the 2016 Gesell Award for Excellence in Poetry. Selected as a 2017 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellow, Roy’s work has appeared or will appear in Poetry, Meridian, Jet Fuel Review, Juked, Winter Tangerine and Superstition Review, and has been anthologized in IMANIMAN: Poets Writing in the Anzaldúan Borderlands (Aunt Lute Books) and The Wandering Song: Central American Writing in the United States (Tia Chucha Press). After the Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando, Roy’s poem, “Restored Mural for Orlando,” was turned into a chapbook with the help of artist, D. Allen, to raise funds for the victims. Roy received an MFA in creative writing from the University of Minnesota and in fall of 2017 will be pursuing a PhD in the Department of Cultural Studies & Comparative Literature at the University of Minnesota.

Lydia Havens

Lydia Havens is a poet, performer, and editor originally from Tucson, Arizona, currently living in Boise, Idaho. Their work has previously been published or is forthcoming in Winter Tangerine, Cosmonauts Avenue, Black Napkin Press, and Voicemail Poems, among other places. They are the co-founder and former Executive Poetry Editor of Transcendence Magazine, and have worked as an On-Call Editor for The Speakeasy Project. Their debut full-length collection, Survive Like the Water, was published by Rising Phoenix Press in 2017. Besides working as a freelance editor, Lydia is also the events coordinator for Big Tree Arts Inc., and is currently a creative writing major at Boise State University.

Itiola Jones

I.S. Jones is a writer, educator, and hip-hop head hailing from Southern California. She is a second-year fellow with The Watering Hole, BOAAT Writer's Retreat, and Callaloo. I.S. is very Blk &loud about her joy. She received an honorable mention from the Academy of American Poets, her work has received two nominations for the Best of The Net Anthology and in 2016 was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She is the Assistant Editor at Chaparral and Voicemail Poetry. Her works have appeared in The Harpoon Review, Fat City Review, Qua Magazine, The Blueshift Journal, SunDog Lit, Matador Review,, forthcoming in great weather for MEDIA, Drunken Boat (now Anamoly!), The Shade Journal, the Black Voices Series with Puerto Del Sol, and elsewhere. She received her MFA from Hofstra University. I.S. is running for Poet Laureate of the Moon.
